How Can Dental Implants Restore Your Smile

The first thing others see when they meet you are your teeth. If a person is missing one or more teeth, this can cause embarrassment or loss in self-confidence. Missing teeth can also change the look of the jaw and face, and the function of the mouth and teeth as they no longer work properly. Many patients seek out a restorative solution, and dental implants are a popular choice. Implants are permanent and give patients the feel and function of having natural teeth.

At Stellar Dentistry our team works directly with each patient to thoroughly examine their teeth and mouth using the latest technology. We discuss all our implant options, and help the patient choose the option that works best.

Listening to our patients concerns and smile goals are important, and our team works above and beyond to provide each patient with a beautiful white smile.

Types of Dental Implants Available

Single Implants

Single tooth implants are designed to replace the entire structure of a single tooth. Once the implant is placed in the jawbone there is a healing process that takes place to allow the implant to fuse to the jawbone. A custom crown is made for the implant and attached using a connector piece or abutment.

The implant creates a strong base for the crown, and once affixed on top the tooth function is restored. In some cases bone grafts may be necessary if the patient does not have enough bone in the jaw to support the implant. If needed, our team will discuss with each patient what is needed in order for your implant process to be a success.

Small Bridge Implants – Restores 3-4 Teeth

Small bridge implants are needed when there are two or three missing teeth. Our team creates a dental bridge using artificial teeth or crowns along with only a few dental implants to support either side of the bridge. Typically this type of implant is used where the bite is strongest, and a small bridge implant provides the needed support and stability.

All-on-4 / All-on-6 Implants – Restores All Teeth in One Jaw

All-on-4 dental implants are a full set or porcelain teeth is supported by 4 or 6 implants. This option provides fixed non removable option to restore teeth, there are no parts extending to and sitting on your palate. This type of implant does not require an implant for each tooth making this an easier and less expensive procedure compared to other solutions.

The implants can typically be placed during a single appointment in our office, and give patients a permanent solution that lasts for years. Four or more implants are carefully placed on each jaw, top and bottom. As the implants heal, they fuse to the jawbone and create a strong base to support your teeth. All-on-4 implants are versatile, and give patients that beautiful smile they have always wanted.

Snap-on Implants

Snap on implants are also known as implant-supported dentures, or overdentures and are a great permanent alternative to restoring your smile. These are regular removable dentures that are supported by the implants for added stability.

This type of implant is a great solution for patients that have missing teeth or have lost chewing ability. They increase the function of the teeth and mouth, and are comfortable. Snap-on implants are typically more cost effective compared to other options, and continue to be a popular choice for patients.

What Type of Implant Is Right for Me?

Part of our detailed consultation process is to take images of your teeth using the latest technology to take a peek inside your mouth and jaw. This allows our team to see the condition of your jaw bone, and gives us the ability to position the implants perfectly.

Our Reynoldsburg dental office will look at your entire facial structure to create the perfect smile. Our detailed process helps to ensure your implants are a success. Temporary crowns can be used the same day as your implant procedure while patients wait for their permanent implants to be placed.
